Last week our ears pricked up when we heard news of J. K. Rowling setting up a website called pottermore.com. Were we about to hear more of the lives of Harry Potter and his amigos? Straight away Daniel Radcliffe insisted he knew nothing about the site and that he would definitely not be up for making more films about the wizard’s life… Killjoy!
It turns out that Daniel doesn’t have to worry, as the website is actually part of an online game which will lead players to real prizes. We aren’t meant to know any of this information yet (and the team behind it have been extremely hush-hush), however a secret memo was sent out to the public by mistake… Oops!
The email contained Pottermore’s marketing strategy and suggested that the site will be based on an online treasure hunt, where gamers will have to find hidden wands in Britain and America.
Whether this is the real deal, or just something to keep us off track, we’re not sure. One thing is for certain though – There will not be another Harry Potter book (for the time being). Rebecca Salt, spokeswoman for J. K. Rowling said, "There is a holding page up at the moment. It is a new project and not a new book and it's not directly related to the film. We are not saying anything more at the moment."
Hmm, let’s hope that some more secret memos get wrongly sent!
