Roles Revealed for Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

Warner Bros. has sent out a press release revealing who Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play in The Dark Knight Rises. Rumors that Cotillard and Gordon-Levitt would play Talia al Ghul and Alberto Falcone, respectively, have turned out to be false, or at least not as simple as a straight reveal. Cotillard will play “Miranda Tate, a Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne resume his father’s philanthropic endeavors for Gotham.” As for Gordon-Levitt, he’s been cast as “John Blake, a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon. Neither character has previously appeared in the comics.

Meryl Streep is highest grossing actress in comedy

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - No joke: Meryl Streep is a big box office star as a comedian.

Though she has won more Oscars for her dramatic roles, Forbes reports that over the last five years, her comedies -- "Mamma Mia," "The Devil Wears Prada," "Julie & Julia," "It's Complicated" -- have earned $1.3 billion at the box office worldwide.

Despite "Sex and the City 2" underperforming both commercially and critically, Sarah Jessica Parker ranked No. 2 with $916 million. (The SATC sequel may have earned $95 million in the U.S., but it raked in an impressive $193 million overseas.)

No. 3: Katherine Heigl, whose comedies have earned $773 million over the last five years. Though her recent big screen efforts have tanked ("Killers," "Life as We Know It"), she has a shot at a comeback with her next project, "One for the Money," based on the popular Janet Evanovich series of Stephanie Plum novels.

Cameron Diaz comes in fourth with $768 million (she'll test her comedic box office chops later this year when she debuts "Bad Teacher," costarring her ex Justin Timberlake).

Anne Hathaway - who was just cast as "Catwoman" in the next Batman installment - rounds out the top 5. Her comedies - which include the mega-popular, "The Devil Wears Prada" - have earned $727 at the box office worldwide.

Anne Hathaway has been cast as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, and Tom Hardy will play cerebral hardman Bane.

The pair join Christian Bale, who will portray the caped crusader for a third time.

“I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies,” said director Christopher Nolan in a statement confirming Batman’s newest big screen adversaries.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Hathaway was among the actresses being considered for two female leads, alongside Keira Knightley, Jessica Biel, Kate Mara, Charlotte Riley and Gemma Arterton.

The other, yet to be cast, role is believed to be that of Bruce Wayne’s love interest.

Meanwhile, Hardy’s name has been in the frame for a while, but as demented psychiatrist Dr Hugo Strange.

Bane was first thrown into the mix as a possible villain this month, when it was speculated that the character would be closer to the comic’s intelligent take than the brainless beefcake that appeared in 1997’s Batman and Robin.

The role of Catwoman was played by Michelle Pfeiffer in Tim Burton’s Batman Returns.

Anne Hathaway Will Guest Star on 'Glee'

Anne Hathaway will guest star on "Glee". The show's creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed that the 28-year-old actress will make an appearance, after she approached him looking for a role, suggesting she could play the lesbian aunt of Chris Colfer's character Kurt.

Ryan said, "The thing that's great about Anne Hathaway is that she created her own character and we just ran into her and we said 'Really?' So we're going to do that. We love her."

Meanwhile, one of the show's other stars, Amber Riley has also given more news about upcoming episodes, revealing that two Justin Bieber songs have been planned into the script. The actress, who plays Mercedes Jones, said, "There's gonna be two Bieber songs, and I think 'Baby' is one. I think that's correct. 'Somebody to Love.' I think ... those are the two songs."

Ryan confirmed that "Bieber comes up in episode 13 as a small plot point", and added that another Lady GaGa episode is in the works. The superstar's unreleased single "Born This Way" will be used to highlight the plight of school bully Karofsky, played by Max Adler, who the show has hinted might be gay.

Ryan explained, "I love that that song is an anthem. This show is by nature optimistic, and I think a character like Karofsky could turn to booze or pills or alcohol and kill themselves or do something dark."

"But I also love Max and I love that character and I sorta want that character to have a happy ending. So I don't really know what that's going to be. But I do know we're going to do a whole episode that's about that song."

Last month, Chris Colfer named Anne as one of the celebrities he'd most like to work with on the show. He said, "Can you imagine a family with myself, Mike O'Malley, Julie Andrews and Anne Hathaway? That's one hell of a family!"
